Financial Education in Schools
NISM has developed a program to impart basic financial skills to school students (Classes VIII upwards). Named as ‘Pocket Money’, this program has been developed as an eight (90 minute) session course.
This is a joint initiative being conducted by SEBI and NISM. We have done a pilot initiative covering 30 schools and 4000 students. We will soon be launching the program in various parts of the country.
For more information about this program please go through this short presentation:
News Flash: NISM recently entered into an arrangement to conduct the programme in all Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) schools in Mumbai. It’s a landmark achievement for NISM as the collaboration will help it conduct Pocket Money programmes in 146 schools all over the city. NISM expects around 15,000 students to participate in the programme and approximately 200 BMC school teachers to undergo training for conducting the programme in their respective schools.
